I’m a members of a great community that matches coaches with clients. I have a fantastic idea in my head about my target market and my ideal client. I love to work with positive focused and motivated women entrepeneurs.
The problem? That description is only about .000002% of the population.
The truth is, people looking for coaches are usually people looking to find their soul purpose, or rewarding job, or soul mate. People hung up on “how bad” their story is, that they need help overcoming it. 99.999998% of the population looking for coaching seems to think that their happiness lives in a different town, or at another job, or at the very least in a different direction. People looking for coaches are usually people looking to find their soul purpose, or rewarding job, or soul mate.
OK, I’m human, I guess there was a time when I had several “if only…” statements that ended in new car, new house, new spouse and in the end there was nothing “new” required for happiness, abundance and joy, in fact it was just little “old” me.
I think part of the issue is not just how we talk to ourselves about our possibilities and not just the amount of responsibility we take about our opportunities, but also how we allow other people (hint hint media and advertisers) to influence our idea of what happiness is!
Here’s the thing. Unless you are happy now, you won’t be happy with a new car, new house, new spouse. Unless you feel abundance now, you won’t feel abundance with $500.00 or $500,000.00 more a year.
You are completely in control of what you think about, and how you think about those things.
When you tell yourself that you don’t have enough for happiness, you are telling yourself that you aren’t worthy of happiness. You are telling yourself that you need other things, things outside yourself to be happy. You have convinced yourself that other people… you know the happy people… have these things and therefore these things are needed for happiness. It’s just not true. It’s simply not true. NOT TRUE.
You are absolutely ENOUGH. Maybe more money would like life easier, but that isn’t happiness, that’s just ease. Maybe a newer car would make traveling easier, but that isn’t happiness, that’s just ease. Maybe a different boss would make work easier, that isn’t happiness that’s just ease.
Stop blaming everyone and everything else for how you think about things and start taking responsibility and decide that today is going to be a great day. It may have challenges, which you will overcome, because at the end of the day, it will be the end of the day and what you spend your time thinking about is up to you.
So, when I say, have an amazing day, I truly mean… make the decision right now to have an AMAZING day. NOTICE the things that make it amazing, revel in the awesomeness of the sunrise, morning dew, damp newspaper in your driveway, sound of traffic… whatever your experience… notice it’s beauty, uniqueness and engage in a way that supports the awesomeness of your day!
Make today amazing
